Happy (Belated) Birthday BabyRose!!!

Hey there! I know this is a super late post but I wanted to make a post dedicated to my BabyRose's first birthday! She celebrated her first birthday 10/10/14. We had a super fun time just mommy, daddy, and BabyRose. We weren't able to have a big first birthday party this year because we have been focused on saving money but we still had a great first birthday for her. I think for the first birthday it is not absolutely necessary to have a huge first birthday party. If you want to and you are able to then I see nothing wrong with it but if you simply feel like you can't afford a party you can still have an awesome day for your baby's day. First of all your little  baby will not remember a big party with the jumper and clowns and all of that. All they want that day is the usual their bottles, naptime, playtime, snacks and of course YOU, the parent! Everything we did for our baby's birthday was DIY. I purchased birthday decorations from the dollar store and a candle from party city. The night before her birthday James and I decorated the living room and dinning area with birthday decorations; pink streamers, happy birthday sign, lots of balloons on the floor, and we wrapped up her birthday gifts. I also baked her birthday cake myself. I tried to be healthy and organic but I felt like the cake didn't come out as perfect as I had hoped. The design I did on the cake I loved though which was pink roses all over the cake I created with a pastry bag and tip 13.

The morning of her birthday she woke up around 7 am and we sung happy birthday to her. Then we went into the living room to open presents. She was so excited and tried to rip the wrapping paper off the gifts. It was super cute and I could tell she was having a fun time. Then she ate some breakfast and after she finished that she had her first taste of birthday cake ever. She couldn't figure out what it was, so she kept touching it and putting her hands in the frosting and licking her fingers. Finally I cut her a slice so she could enjoy the cake better. After that we gave her a bath and got her dressed for the day in her Minnie Mouse costume her great granny picked up for her at the Disney Store.

(And after! She loved her cake! Especially the frosting :) )

Then we headed to Disneyland and enjoyed her birthday together. We went on about 7 rides, the Dumbo Ride, The Pooh Bear Ride, Its a Small World, The Story Book Ride, and Buzz Light Year Ride, just to name a few. And we had lunch at the Country Time Bear Cafe in Adventure Land. We did a whole lot of walking and exploring. She was exhausted once the day started to end and partied out. We stayed til about 7 pm because the parked closed early due to the Halloween Party they were having (i'm hoping we can go to that next year!).

It was a great First Birthday and we all enjoyed ourselves. I got some footage and made it into a video. Please check it out :) Thank you for visiting.

Also here is a Minnie Mouse costume like the one her great grandmother got for her. And also a disneyland guide that helped us out a lot that day with finding lots of cool places, eats, and rides to check out inside the park

Baby Feeds Herself!

This week was pretty laid back. My goal was to start doing daily vlogs but I didn't meet that goal. I'm not doing a lot everyday to vlog everyday. Plus it is hard to remember to bust out the camera when something is happening. Sometimes I am just so wrapped up in my own life and what is going on that I forgot to film it. I'm trying to do better though. I like the vlogging idea because I love to look back on old videos and reminisce. Its really nice to capture the memories that are flying by so quickly. I remember when BabyRose was born and we were in the hospital room together side by side, learning how to nurse and take care of her. Now she will be 1 year old in just a few weeks. So crazy how time is flying by. I wish it would slow down but I just have to make each day as memorable, bright, and happy as I can.

(BabyRose playing in her pretend car. She loves the music on this toy and dances to the music all the time. She loves to dance now :D)

BabyRose took her first steps last week and now she is trying to walk all the time. She is taking more and more steps and trying to find her balance and strength. So proud of her! I mean I know all babies walk, but it is so cool and special to see your own do it. She is also wanting to feed herself more too. She grabs the spoon from my hand and puts it in her mouth and says "mmmmm" now. lol.

(BabyRose seen here walking more and more each day)

Check out my new YouTube video of BabyRose exploring and enjoying her week and feeding herself with the spoon. More videos will be up soon. Thank you for visiting.

BABY WALKS!!

Yesterday was so exciting! BabyRose took her first few steps last night. It was so excited and I caught it on camera the second time she did it. My baby is growing up. Its sad but fun to watch all at the same time. I have heard people say this all the time but I can finally understand what they mean when they say "it goes by so fast". And you know what, it DOES! I remember it like it was yesterday when I had to go to the hospital and give birth. Now she will be a year old in less than 3 weeks. Its crazy how time flies by and how much your baby develops and grows. It has been an amazing journey so far.

I posted a video on my channel of her day yesterday, eating, playing, exploring, trying out some herb roasted chicken for dinner, dancing, and finally at the end of the day, walking. She's growing up so fast. Thank you for stopping by!

Daily Vlogs

Hey All! I started my own Vlogging channel this weekend! I'm so excited to start vlogging. I watch a lot of vlogs on Youtube and thought "why don't I try this out?". I have probably thought about this for a very long time and tried to talk myself out of it. But yesterday I said "you know what, it won't hurt to just try". So I did and here I am now. I'm excited about this and sharing my story and my journey as a young new mom and my everyday life.

Seen here is BabyRose enjoying her Sunday with mommy and daddy. I stayed in the house because I wasn't in the mood to go out. But daddy and baby took a nice walk to the 99 cents store and back. And daddy enjoyed watching football all day. It was a lovely lazy Sunday.

Check out my Video! And please Subscribe or comment here as well. Love to hear from you.

Staying Optimistic

Hey Guys! Wanted to write this blog post as an update. Pretty much the same from last week. James and I are still looking for a new place to move to. That has been pretty frustrating, but you have to have trials in life to grow and appreciate what you do have. Its just very hard when we want to move so badly and no one will give us a chance. We are fixing our credit right now but not fast enough :\. But we need more space very fast because Ava is getting bigger and needs more room to roam and explore. We just have to keep looking and someone will give us a chance. Just have to keep the faith and stay positive.

The sleep sense program has been working really well. I hate that she had to do the cry it out method but I honestly didn't know any other way to get her to sleep through the night. I tried to do some non cry it out methods but she would not give in unless I put her back in bed with me, which was not going to work out. I enjoyed co-sleeping but after a while it became hard to do. She would want to eat (nurse) ALL NIGHT LONG. Like every 3 hrs. Plus she would take up the whole bed with her little arms all stretched out and James and I would be sleeping on the edge of the bed. It just wasn't cool anymore. We needed her to sleep in her crib so we could have enough energy for the next day keeping up with her. But it has been working really well for bedtime. Naps are another story and i'm sure in time she will get use to it better. But right now she only naps for 30-40min at a time when I need her to get at least an hour nap. Just have to work with her and be patient. Let me know if you have tried the sleep sense program or some type of sleep training or what did you do to get your baby to sleep in their crib during bedtime and naps.

Nowadays at 9 months almost 10 months old she is all over the place now. She loves to crawl back and forth like 10 times. Loves to climb her playpen gate and hold on to it walking. She is also talking and babbling more too, saying "ma-ma", "da-da", "ba-ba", and "bo-bo". Its really cute. She also loves her toys. She only likes to play with one at a time and she will hold on to it for half the day while climbing the pillows or holding on to the couch walking back and forth. Also at her 9 month check up she now weighs 22lbs and is 28inches long (my little tall-y with her long plump legs :D)

Check out my new YouTube video I made of Avarose playing and babbling. I'm starting to get a little better making videos. I'm hoping I will make more videos. I really enjoy editing and making them look nice. Thank you for visiting

Been a while y'all...

Sorry I haven't blogged in a few months! Last few months have been crazy... well not that crazy but I just haven't had the time nor did I know what to write. I am such a perfectionist and I want my blog post to be perfect. But nothing can be perfect if you don't start and try. So that is my plan now. Just to try as best as I can to write at least once a day. Maybe at least once a week first then build myself up to once a day. I look at other mom blogs and they are so put together nice with nice banners and pictures and they write them like articles. I'm thinking "maybe they are all journalist majors" cause they are written so well. And I don't write to well, yet, I guess.

Anyway life has been really stressful. We have been struggling financially and just getting by. I have been trying to find a job but no one has called me back yet. I'm thinking maybe it is my resume or its something with me. I just want to work so I can bring in some income to my family and I just can't get a break.

Plus we are beyond frustrated with our baby's sleep schedule. She is currently still sleeping in bed with us because she wants no parts of her crib. She also nurses herself to sleep and wakes up every 4 hours or so to sleep eat (eating while sleeping, not opening her eyes just her mouth so she can soothe herself back to sleep). Its very frustrating. We tried the sleep sense, a sleep training program I heard about from some YouTubers. We tried it and it was working but its hard to get a system going because you literally can't go anywhere til the schedule is solid. And I just can't do that. It's hard for me to tell my grandparents "hey I can't visit today with the baby because she has to get this sleeping thing down". They don't understand or care. So I would have the sleep training down and then she visit great grandparents house and everything would be set back again and we have to start all over again. So we took a month off. I was like "you know what she is just the type of baby that only wants to co-sleep and I just have to accept that". But I can't and I know my fiance can't. We are tired and its frustrating and tiring trying to put her to sleep in the bed and nurse all the time. Yes I know she is only a baby and this is a short period of time but at a point it just becomes ridiculous. So we are going to try the sleep sense program again tonight.

Other than that, that is all that is going on. I really want to reach an audience and get some views. Any advice on what I could do to reach more moms and other people, let me know in the comments. I also want to start YouTube too but I'm shy and I get nervous and I don't want people to be mean to me on there because I'm so awkward and strange sometimes. Anyway that is it guys. Thanks for reading.

Teething

Sigh! My baby is teething. She has been so cranky and grouchy the last few days. Usually she is a relaxed and calm baby but the last few days she has been so grouchy. I feel really bad for her. She also had a fever for about a day which was 102°. The fever went away though, thank goodness. We gave her some 'little remedies' infant medicine and that seem to help a whole lot. She didn't take the Tylenol infant medicine to well and threw it up with her breastmilk. So I decided I wanted to try this one, so JamLar went or and got it and it seemed to work very well. She seems a bit more happier than yesterday. But now I think I caught we fever because I have been sick all day. Fever, sore throat, runny nose, occasional sneezing, chills. It really sucks but I have to keep going and be strong to take care of baby. No breaks when you're a parent.

Right now she is watching some Peppa Pig in bed with me. Such a cute cartoon and she really seems to like it. And don't judge me on her tv watching. She doesn't watch much and when she does it's Peppa Pig or another baby cartoon.

Anyway I'm using the Blogger app and I really like it so far. I wish I could get more followers but I guess that will come in due time.

Xoxo

Rainy Friay

Today is a rainy day. I wish it would rain more but we are just getting rain here and there today. It would start pouring and then all of a sudden the rain stops. :(. I want more rain. It seems like the older I get, the more I appreciate the rain and rainy days. Rainy days feel like a day you don't have to make up an excuse to stay home. You can snuggle up in the house with your PJ's and favorite warm blanket and hang out with the house. Plus I can snuggle up next to my sweet babygirl during the day, which is really nice.

I actually had time to take a shower today and i'm feeling great. Sometimes with a baby it is really hard to make it in the shower. I'm not comfortable taking her in the shower with me, as I have read that some moms do that. I'm too scared I would drop her in the shower or accidentally get too much water in her face or something will go wrong. So I just leave that alone. But today I put her in the bouncer in the bathroom and it was all good.

I watched the new episode of 'Parenthood' today. I have been waiting for the new episode for a whole month. I didn't watch the whole episode yet but it seemed kinda *snoreeeeeee* boring. I don't know, after I had BabyRose in October, I would watch this show on Netflix, one after the other. I was like "wow this is sooooo my show!". I loved the family dynamic with real modern issues but through all there "problems" they still loved each other and supported one another. This season is just not saying too much to me. Like they are running out of steam. Plus I hate to see Julia and Joel breaking up, but what can ya do. Anyway I did that.

Then trying to work on my blog. I want my blog to be interesting with good content. So I just have to keep posting and be patient.

Finally got BabyRose to sleep! She is starting to stay awake for longer stretchs now. It took me a little while to put her to sleep. She loves to boobie and if she could, lay in my arms or shoulder and sleep. But sometimes I just need a slight break so I try to gently put her in her boppy pillow and i'll watch youtube videos with my headphones on.

I found a new YouTube channel called "The Skorpion Show". Oh its so funny and hilarious! I have been watching there videos back to back since I found it yesterday. Talking about my favorite topics like RHOA, Braxtons, and Beyonce just to name some of the stuff they talk about. Really good channel.

Thats it for me today :)
